7 New Named Skills Added in Men’s Gymnastics

The FIG released an October 2024 Men’s Artistic Gymnastics newsletter, reflecting on the recently completed, abbreviated Olympic cycle, highlighting achievements in gymnastics despite COVID-19 challenges. Notable accomplishments include innovative skills by athletes that were officially recognized and recorded in the Code of Points (CoP). Successful World Championships in Liverpool and Antwerp and the sold-out Olympic Games in Paris showcased the sport’s global appeal, with medalists from 18 nations. The newsletter also addresses updates in the 2025-2028 CoP, covering rule clarifications for judging.

Our focus, however, will be on new named elements introduced in the newsletter. Several gymnasts earned their names in history with new elements at competitions within the past year. Lets take a look at some of the new skills introduced in the newsletter:
